Ari's Death: April 17, 2015, 2:00 P.M.
Ari died on April 17, 2015 at around 2:00 at the vet's office. She hadn't been eating for several weeks, so we took her to the vet's. They ran a lot of tests, found nothing, and put her in the hospital for several days. Then they put a feeding tube in, because she had developed fatty liver disease and was very sick.
We took her home and fed by the feeding tube for 3 1/2 days. then, on Thursday night, she developed a seizure, and went stiff, with her eyes staring straight ahead. She also had another seizure several hours later. She urinated during the seizure.
Friday morning we took her back to the vet's, and they put her into the hospital again. We left her there.
We called the vet's several hours later and were told that they had stopped feeding her (we kept feeding her even after the seizures), and that she had had repeated seizures after we brought her in.
We decided to have her put to sleep, so we told the vet's that we would be in in a little while and that we wanted her put to sleep.
We took some last pictures of Ari in my and John's arms, wrapped in a blanket, and then she was put to sleep at about 2:00 P.M. We cried a lot. We took some last pictures of her out of the box that the vet's had put her body in for us.
We buried her out in the back of the house by the brook, where her body won't be disturbed.
She is sorely missed.
